Is there a step by step instruction to set up my network/file sharing
I have an Imac 21.5 desktop on the LAN and a 13 '' macbook pro on wifi
I am using DHCP
El Capitan osx
I can see each computer in finder and can access them
however I cannot get into the files

There are a few things to set up.
Are you accessing the Macbook from the iMac or setting up so the Macbook can access the iMac? Or both ways?

I have another question !
I have a beyonwiz dpp2 pvr I can see it on my windows machine
access files run a dvd etc
I am unable to see the machine from the laptop or from the pvr

also cannot se the PVR from the Mac desktop
Sorry... don't know the unit. Do you know what type of networking is needed?
SMB, AFP, Bonjour?
I am sorry I do not know the type of networking I am using DHCP
however I can ping trace route it all ok ?
just cannot see it in sharing
I have also added its ip in finder go connect to server
the error message states no server available and no shares

Are there any instructions included with the unit? Are you sure it is OSX compatible, as in "it should work"?
The IP address and opinion proves the mechanics are in place, but we need to now what "language" the PVR can speak that your Mac will understand.

I have a macbook pro on the same network working wirelessly
I cannot ping to the Imac on 192.168.001.111
how do I get it to return ping/traceroute?
